1:1 Mentoring

The goal of all our Mentoring Programs is to provide a young person aged 6-16 with a positive and consistent adult role model when this may be missing from other areas of their life. All 1:1 Matches (a mentor and a child/youth) meet weekly for 1-4 hours for a minimum of one year. Matches are also encouraged to attend our evening drop-in programs and other special events the agency runs throughout the year.

Kingston: Club-Based 1:1 Mentoring

Mentors and mentees meet weekly at the West End BGC, located at 1300 Bath Road. Each session offers a variety of engaging activities for youth ages 6-16, including swimming, sports, crafts, and games. Participants have access to several dedicated spaces, such as the jungle gym, pool, gymnasium, turf area, and the lounge in the BBBS office. To ensure a smooth experience, please confirm space availability prior to your session. This program fosters meaningful connections in a welcoming club environment, offering a blend of structured and flexible activities designed to support positive mentorship and personal growth.

Napanee: Site-Based 1:1 Mentoring

Matches connect at the Napanee Public Library located at 25 River Road, where there are private meeting spaces available to be booked through the library website or front desk. There are also occasional events and activities that take place throughout the year that matches are welcome to sign up for.

Other/Rural: Site-Based 1:1 Mentoring

For all other rural locations where travelling to 1300 Bath Road or the Napanee Public Library may not be possible, please contact us about other options for match visits.

 KFL&A: School-Based 1:1 Mentoring

The In-School mentoring program provides youth with a role-model and a friend to talk to and share the experiences of growing up within school grounds. For one hour a week for the duration of the school year, mentors meet with their mentee and engage in activities such as board games, crafts or just hanging out on school grounds. Matches do not meet over the summer break or during other school holidays. For more information on enrolling a young person in our School-Based Mentoring Programs, click here!
