The privacy of users of this website is very important to Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS). BBBS respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information you provide to us. This statement explains our policies and practices regarding the use and disclosure of your personal information by BBBS. Please note that BBBS reviews and updates this policy from time to time as needed. Personally identifiable information is not collected unless specifically submitted via an online registration function or registration form, (volunteer inquiries and surveys for example), an electronic mail message, a phone call or postal mail. All information is kept confidential – this is subject to any legal requirements to disclose. BBBS will not maintain records on individuals without permission. All information is protected by BBBS’s physical, electronic, and managerial security methods which are updated as necessary.
Information you provide may be used periodically to keep you informed of BBBS and its member agencies including programs, services, opportunities to volunteer, events, funding needs and membership benefits. If at any time you no longer wish to receive such information please contact us at the phone number or email listed above.
Any website of BBBS may provide links to other third-party websites. These are provided for convenience only and you access them at your own risk. Even if a third-party is associated with BBBS through a business relationship or otherwise, BBBS are not responsible for the privacy policies or practices or content of such third-party websites.

Confidentiality Policy
Volunteers, staff, and Board Members are required to sign an Oath of Confidentiality which is a required condition of their participation with BBBSKFLA. No staff member or volunteer shall use confidential information from the Agency to advance any personal interest, financial or otherwise.
In accordance with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada’s National Standards, no information will be provided to persons or organizations outside of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada, and its agents, about parents, children, or volunteers without their express prior written consent, except where required by law or in the following cases:
Personal information about Volunteers is collected for such purposes as:
- a) the appropriate establishment of friendships between Volunteers and Mentees.
- b) the assurance of child safety.
- c) communications such as newsletters, annual reports, and invitations to events;
- d) research on the impact of services by agencies such as BBBSKFLA on the condition of children and families;
- e) regulatory requirements that affect BBBSKFLA.
Personal information about Mentees is collected for such purposes as:
- a) establishment of friendships between Volunteers and Mentees
- b) the assurance of child safety
- c) communications such as newsletters, annual reports and invitations to events;
- d) research on the impact of services by agencies such as BBBSKFLA on the condition of children and families;
- e) regulatory requirements that affect BBBSKFLA.
Personal information around scholarship recipients is collected for such purposes as the:
- a) administration of applications and disbursements;
- b) communications such as newsletters, annual reports and invitations to events.
Feedback Policy
The ultimate goal of BBBSKFLA is to meet and surpass customer expectations while serving customers with disabilities. Comments on our services regarding how well those expectations are being met are welcome and appreciated.
Feedback regarding the way BBBSKFLA provides services to people with disabilities can be made by email, mail or in-person to the Executive Director. All feedback will be directed to the Executive Director. Customers can expect to hear back within 14 days. All feedback or complaints given to staff shall be forwarded to the Executive Director, who shall, at his or her discretion, forward it to the Board of Directors.
